A letter from the founder
HomePlanner exists to demystify the home buying journey, especially for first home buyers. We want to bring you everything you need in one place, and give you the tools and the knowledge to act with confidence, wherever you are on your own path to a purchase.
Every buyer we interviewed had at least one thing they wish they'd known before they bought, something that would have taken the stress out of it. The line we heard most often was "it would be so much easier the second time around". That tells you how blind and unsupported people go into the biggest purchase of their lives, up against seasoned professionals, alone. We don't believe it needs to be that way.
We also kept hearing that home buying is overwhelming: way too much information out there, everyone with an opinion, so many stakeholders and so much conflicting advice that you're never sure who or what to trust. Most buyers just want a clear view of what's happening, when, and by whom, and the comfort that things are moving as they should.
It's also staggering how many Australians don't think they'll ever own a home, or can't see the wealth the housing market could build for them. We're proud of tools that let anyone understand how to make smarter financial decisions around property.
So we're building the trusted place to start: a free guide with no download and no email required, tools that show you where you stand, and a marketplace of professionals we'd send our own friends to. Two rules we keep
Free and independent, in the plain sense of both words.
Free means the guide has no email gate, the tools have no card on file, and the marketplace is free for buyers. If that changes for anything, it will say so on the page before you use it.
Independent means nobody pays to appear in the guide or the marketplace, we don't sell your information, and the rates you see are lenders' own published figures, not a sponsored table.
